Mechanic – Diesel Heavy Equipment and Small Engines

The mechanic is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and inspection of heavy equipment, light-duty trucks, and small engines.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and mechanical repairs on:
    • Trucks (gasoline and diesel)
    • Trailers
    • Lifting platforms and lifting equipment
    • Generators and small gasoline engines
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic issues
  • Keep maintenance records up to date for each piece of equipment
  • Ensure compliance with mechanical and environmental safety standards
  • Work collaboratively with site personnel to ensure proper equipment operation
  • Order and manage the parts required for repairs
  • Occasionally travel to job sites to perform emergency repairs
  • Ensure that equipment always meets CNESST and SAAQ requirements

You must have

  • Diploma of Vocational Studies (DEP) in diesel mechanics, heavy vehicle mechanics, or construction machinery mechanics
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role
  • Knowledge of electronic diagnostics (an asset)
  • Valid driver’s license (Class 3 is an asset)
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities
  • Attention to detail and strong safety awareness
