Financial Controller

Reporting to the Vice-President of Finance, the Financial Controller plays a key strategic and operational role in the company’s financial management. They are responsible for all financial, accounting, and internal control activities in a context of multiple projects and growth, while playing a determining role in optimizing processes and tools by bringing forward ideas and recommendations to evolve the accounting function and support the ongoing digital transformation.

Job Responsibilities

  • Supervise the entire accounting cycle (general accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll)
  • Produce monthly and annual financial statements and other financial reports.
  • Ensure project cost tracking and variance analysis.
  • Supervise the technician team.
  • Ensure treasury management and optimization
  • Implement cost control measures to optimize operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate external audits.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the finance team.
  • Team development and coaching;
  • Ensure team members comply with financial policies and procedures;
  • Supervision of internal financial controls, accounting processes, and responsibility for compliance with tax obligations;
  • Coordinate the financial planning and budgeting process, perform analysis and adjust forecasts;
  • Coordinate cost control;
  • Design, implementation, and continuous improvement of financial management processes;

You must possess

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting sciences, management, or administration;
  • An accounting designation (CPA);
  • 3 to 5 years of experience as a controller or financial director;
  • Bilingual;
  • Experience implementing an integrated management software system will be considered an asset;
  • Positive leadership and the ability to mobilize and engage work teams;
  • Advanced knowledge of accounting and taxation
  • Experience in the construction industry in a multi-project context, an asset.
